Cookie policy

Cookies on this website

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Some are needed for a site to work; others remember preferences or measure how a site is used.

This website sets analytics cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. It uses no advertising or social media tracking.

Analytics cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, the website uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read, how visitors arrive and roughly where they are, so that it can be improved. Google Analytics then sets two cookies:

• _ga: tells one visitor from another; kept for 2 years.
• _ga_ followed by a code: keeps track of the visit; kept for 2 years.

Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, and the information it collects is kept for no more than 14 months. If you reject analytics cookies, or make no choice, the Google Analytics code is not loaded at all.

Your choice

When you accept or reject analytics cookies, the website sets one cookie, drp_consent, which remembers your choice so that you are not asked again on every page. It holds nothing else and is kept for 12 months.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the analytics cookies are deleted and Google Analytics stops.

Fonts loaded from Google

The website’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details in order to send the files.

Google states that the Google Fonts service does not set or log cookies, and that it does not use this information to build profiles of visitors or for targeted advertising. The privacy policy explains how personal data is handled.

Cookies for site administrators

When someone who looks after the website logs in to WordPress, WordPress sets cookies that keep them logged in. These are strictly necessary for that purpose and are not set for visitors.

Controlling cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings; the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox explain how. Blocking cookies does not stop the website working, although the cookie banner will then appear again on each visit.

Changes to this policy

If the website starts to use any other cookies, this policy will be updated first, and any that need your consent will be set only after you agree. The latest version is always the one on this page.
